Advising Initiatives:

  • Send a welcome email 1st week of school to make contact, introduce myself, and encourage them to reach out for any questions/concerns

  • Send out an advising schedule 4 weeks prior to Advising Day to allow for flexible scheduling

  • Advising options include: In-person, email, phone appointments

  • Encourage inquiring minds to reach out for more information either to myself or another HS faculty member

Recruiting Initiatives:

  • I am proud to work for Casper College and I share that passion with everyone that I can

  • Share employment opportunities with those looking for new journeys

  • Field trip to Career Fair for HTLK 1200 students during class

  • Social media posts encouraging participation in Health Science events

  • Summer prospective student tours

  • I'm always giving a shout out to students who mention an interest. "Email me, call me, here's my card..."

  • Soar Summer Advising events

Student Success Initiatives:

  • Individualized emails re: grades, missed work, performance, concerns, attendance, etc.

  • Midterm emails

  • Weekly clinical emails to clinical groups - see example --->

  • Clinical group to OLLI presentation of 4th semester

    • they loved it

    • I will take every chance I can to take students to support students

  • I complete Cares Reports on students that I have concerns about

    • mostly it has been attendance in HLTK 1200 or poor participation in activities and homework

    • I appreciate the opportunity to keep students on the radar to ensure they don't fall through the cracks. It is a team effort.

  • I am often requested to write letters of recommendation for students and am honored to do so
